Perry has been at Western since 2009 and has over 25 years of financial and accounting experience, as a “Fortune 50” company executive, small business owner and nonprofit officer.  He teaches accounting, finance and economics, and assists a local public accounting firm doing tax accounting.  Perry has an MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business in finance and marketing, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and finance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.  He also worked internationally in Canada for three years.  When not teaching, he’s at his other home in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, skiing, mountain biking, gardening or wine collecting - depending on the season.  He is married with a college age daughter.

Melinda Hickman has lived in eight different places, Kansas, Texas, Alaska, Belarus, Tennessee, Moldova, Nebraska and Wyoming. She has visited many places all throughout the world including, England, France, Netherlands, Russia, Lithuania, Hungary, Austria, Turkey, Germany, Mexico, China, Canada, Belgium, Moldova and Switzerland. Melinda has published poetry and has worked on grants; she is also known to tell Eskimo stories, illustrated with tempera paintings and has taken / visted more than 60 lighthouses in Maine.
