Julia Mayo

Julia Mayo is a native of Louisiana, where she performed with the Baton Rouge Ballet Theater under the direction of Molly Buchmann and Sharon Mathews. Julia continued her dance training in New York City and holds a BFA in dance from The Juilliard School under the direction of Lawrence Rhodes, and an MFA in dance performance from New York University's Tisch School for the Arts. Julia has worked directly with choreographers such as Eliot Feld, Aszure Barton, Seán Curran, and Jacquelyn Buglisi and has performed repertory by Paul Taylor, Mark Morris and Antony Tudor. Julia has performed nationally and internationally with various companies. Her choreography has been performed throughout New York City and was selected to be a part of :pushing progress dance festival. She was on faculty for the Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education for three years and has been a guest teacher at Emory University, New York University and throughout the southeast. Julia is honored to be joining the Western Wyoming Community College faculty.

 

Daniel Mayo

Daniel Mayo was born and raised in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he began dancing at the age of five. He trained at various dance studios in South Carolina before receiving a BFA in dance from The Juilliard School in New York City. While at Juilliard, Daniel worked directly with choreographers Aszure Barton, Eliot Feld, Susan Marshall and Bennyroyce Royon. He has also performed works by Jiří Kylián, William Forsythe and Paul Taylor. In 2007 Daniel joined the Atlanta Ballet where he performed for three seasons. During his time in Atlanta, Daniel performed works by Twyla Tharp, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Matt Kent and Bennyroyce Royon, as well as many classical works. He also performed in Lauri Stallings' world premiere of BIG featuring Big Boi from Outkast. Daniel currently performs with the Montreal based company RUBBERBANDance Group, which he joined in 2010. With RUBBERBANDance Group, he has performed all over North America, Europe and Asia. Daniel also serves as a guest artist and teacher throughout the United States and Canada, most recently serving as faculty for the Domaine Forget summer dance festival in Quebec, Canada. He has performed in multiple film projects and music videos, most notably for Bravo!FACT, and is a founding member and rehearsal director for the NYC based company Bennyroyce Dance Productions. Daniel is currently on faculty at Western Wyoming Community College as adjunct instructor for Jazz 2 and Tap 2.
