Head Women's Basketball Coach
Ken Swartz

Ken Swartz will begin his tenth year at Western and the program has seen steady improvement.  The Mustangs have gone 107-46 over the past five years and won two conference championships.  Swartz begins his 38th year of coaching and in ten years at Western, he has been selected Central Sub-region Coach of the Year twice, Region IX Coach of the Year once and Conference Coach of the Year twice.  Coach Swartz has won 532 games in his career and in 2004 was named to the Wyoming Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Coach Swartz holds a bachelors degree from Huron University and received his master’s in education from Albertson College.

Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
Carl Romanowski

Coach Romanowski will be in his tenth season and has been an integral part of the Mustang’s success since arriving at Western the same year as Coach Swartz.

Coach Romansoski is a teacher and former football coach at Rock Springs High School.  He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Idaho State University and an administrative endorsement from the University of Wyoming.

During his 35 years in Rock Springs, Romanowski has coached football, basketball and track until his retirement in 1999. Coach Romanowski will be retiring after the 2009-10 season and will be greatly missed.
