Head Women's Basketball Coach
Ken Swartz
Ken Swartz will begin his 11th year at Western and his 38th year of coaching. The Mustangs have gone 125-58 over the past six years and won two conference championships. During his tenure at Western, Swartz has been selected Conference Coach of the Year twice, Sub-region Coach of the Year twice and Region IX Coach of the Year once. Coach Swartz has won 550 games in his career and in 2004 was elected to the Wyoming Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Coach Swartz holds a bachelor’s degree from Huron University and received his Master’s in k-12 Administration from the College of Idaho
Coach Swenson will begin his first year with the women’s basketball program at Western. He was a volunteer assistant with the men’s program in 2009-2010.
Swenson coached at the high school level the previous nine years. He was named the South Conference Coach of the Year twice during his four-year tenure at Rock Springs High School as the head boy’s basketball coach.
Coach Swenson is a math teacher at East Junior High school and an assistant football coach at the Rock Springs High School.
He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Sioux Falls in South Dakota.
