Message from the Director

Greetings and Welcome to The Learning Center!

The Learning Center provides a continuum of educational services from literacy to GED to pre-college and college classes.  English language classes are provided for local immigrants and international students. The goal of the center combines the programs of the Adult Learning Center and the College Learning Center to help each individual student achieve their potential and meet their educational goals. 

The Learning Center provides:

GED preparation
Instruction in reading, writing, and math on a variety of levels
College prep classes
Skill assessments
Computer literacy
English language classes
Citizenship

The Learning Center staff prides itself on being responsive to student needs.  Literacy and GED classes are open entry, open exit.  Many classes are self paced and competency based.  Individual learning styles are addressed through a variety of teaching methods and materials.  A positive learning environment with individual help and frequent feedback leads to the success of the students participating in the program.
