English as a Second Language
14 Credit Certificate in English As A Second Language
The ESL certificate is a 14 credit program designed for students to document their successful
completion of a curriculum focusing on improving their English speaking and writing ability.
Recipients of the certificate must complete 14 credits from among the following courses with at
least a C or better in each course. Students must take at least one course from each of the three
core categories - Writing, Communication, and Reading, with additional core courses counting as
electives. Core classes must account for at least 8 of the 14 credits.
