PROCEDURE 5310B:
FINANCIAL AID REVIEW BOARD

The Financial Aid Review Board also referred to below as “the Board” meets as needed to advise the WWCC Financial Aid Office on that office’s policies and procedures, and hear student appeals for reinstatement of aid lost due to academic deficiency or other reasons.

Composition of the Board
The Financial Aid Review Board will have the following 5 members:

  1. the Vice President for Student Success Services
  2. 2 faculty representatives, elected annually by the College Senate,
  3. one representative from Administrative Services, and
  4. the Financial Aid Officer.

Advising on Office Policy and Procedures
The Director of Financial Aid may from time to time refer changes in office procedures or financial aid policies and procedures to the Board for advice and/or approval.

Student Appeals Concerning Discontinued Aid
When the Financial Aid Office discontinues a student’s aid because he or she has not maintained the academic requirements for that aid or is otherwise ineligible, the student may appeal that decision to the Board, based on mitigating circumstances.  The Board will then hear the appeal and make a final decision.
