POLICY 5320A:
INSTITUTIONAL ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
The College funds a number of scholarships based on academic achievement for
full-time students.
The Financial Aid Office administers the institutional scholarship funds.
The academic scholarships that WWCC presently has available are the:

SUPERIOR STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Graduating high school seniors with superior academic records may apply for these scholarships. Both in-state and out-of-state students may apply.
Scholarships Available
The budget allocation will determine the number of these scholarships
awarded each academic year.
Value
Each scholarship provides the costs for full-time in-state tuition, fees and textbooks, plus the costs of a residence hall suite or apartment (based upon maximum occupancy) and a full board contract for up to four consecutive semesters. If the student qualifies for the Hathaway Scholarship, the Hathaway scholarship will be included in the total award for the Superior Student Scholarship.
Criteria
Criteria may change from year to year.
For consideration, applicants must have a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.75 through at least seven high school semesters, and a composite score of 27+ on the ACT test or 1220+ on the SAT test.
Awarding the Scholarship
An ad hoc committee will award these scholarships based on the information found in the students’ letter of intent, recommendations, transcripts, and test scores. A limited number of applications will be selected for an interview. The award is contingent upon graduation from high school.
Applicants must complete the general application process for scholarships.
Renewing the Scholarship
These scholarships are available for four consecutive semesters so long as the student maintains the established academic criteria for continuation.
For continuation, the student must complete at least 15 credit hours per semester with a minimum G.P.A. of 3.50 and must be enrolled in the Honors Program.

HONOR SCHOLARSHIPS
A stipend awarded for up to four consecutive semesters to high school graduates who enroll at WWCC within 27 months of graduation.
Scholarships Available
The WWCC Institutional Scholarship budget and/or the allocation of state aid will determine the availability of the scholarships awarded each academic year.
Value
Each scholarship provides $4,200 each academic year.
Criteria
Eligibility criteria and awards amounts may change from year to year.
For consideration, the student must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.5 upon high school graduation or a minimum GED score of 540. Applicants also must have a minimum composite score of 25+ on the ACT test or a SAT test score of 1130+. .
Awarding the Scholarship
The award is contingent upon graduation from high school and applying for admission to the institution.
Renewing the Scholarship
For continuation, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours (or the number of credit hours funded) per semester with a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5. If criteria is met, the scholarship is automatically renewed.

PERFORMANCE SCHOLARSHIPS
A stipend awarded for up to four consecutive semesters to high school graduates who enroll at WWCC within 27 months of graduation.

Value
$3,200 each academic year.
Criteria
Eligibility criteria and award amounts may change from year to year.
For consideration, applicants must have a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 upon high school graduation or a minimum GED score of 500. Applicants also must have a composite score of 21+ on ACT test or a SAT test score of 980+.
Awarding the Scholarship
The award is contingent upon graduation from high school and applying for admission to the institution.
Renewing the Scholarship
For continuation, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours (or the number of credit hours funded) per semester with a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5. If criteria is met, the scholarship is automatically renewed.
OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP
A stipend awarded for up to four consecutive semesters to high school graduates who enroll at WWCC within 27 months of graduation.
Scholarships Available
The WWCC Institutional Scholarship budget and/or the allocation of state aid will determine the availability of the scholarships awarded each academic year.
Value
$1,600 each academic year.
Criteria
Eligibility criteria and award amounts change from year to year.
For consideration, applicants must have a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5 upon graduation from high school and a composite score of 19+ on the ACT test or a SAT test score of 900+ or a GED score of 500.
Awarding the Scholarship
The award is contingent upon graduation from high school and applying for admission to the institution.
Renewing the Scholarship
For continuation, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours (or the number of credit hours funded) per semester with a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.25. If criteria is met, the scholarship is automatically renewed.
CAREER SCHOLARSHIP
A stipend awarded for up to four consecutive semesters to high school graduates who enroll at WWCC within 27 months of graduation.
Scholarships Available
The WWCC Institutional Scholarship budget and/or the allocation of state aid will determine the availability of the scholarships awarded each academic year.
Value
$1,600 each academic year.
Criteria
Eligibility criteria and award amounts may change from year to year. Students must have graduated from a Wyoming high school.
For consideration, applicants must have a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5 upon graduation from high school and a composite score of 17+ on the ACT test, a SAT test score of 810+ or a cumulative score of 12 points on the WORKKEYS tests or GED score of 500.
Awarding the Scholarship
The award is contingent upon graduation from a Wyoming high school and applying for admission to the institution.
Renewing the Scholarship
For continuation, students must complete 12 or more credit hours (or the number of credit hours funded) per semester with a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.25. If the criteria is met, the scholarship is automatically renewed.
TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP
A stipend awarded to students transferring to WWCC after attending another post secondary educational institution for up to four semesters if the student does not qualify for Hathaway funding.

$3,500 each academic year.
Criteria
Eligibility criteria and award amounts may change from year to year.
For consideration, applicants must have a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.5. The applicant must have completed a minimum of 12 credits and the transfer must occur within 5 years of last college enrollment.
Awarding the Scholarship
Applicants must complete the general application process for scholarships.
Renewing the Scholarship
For continuation, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester with a 3.0 G.P.A. If the criteria is met, the scholarship is automatically renewed.
NON-TRADITIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
A stipend awarded for up to four semesters to entering or returning adult students attending WWCC full time. To be eligible an applicant must have been out of high school for at least five years.
Scholarships Available
The budget allocation will determine the number of these scholarships awarded each academic year.
Value
$1,800 each academic year.
Criteria
Eligibility criteria and award amounts may change from year to year.
For consideration, applicants must have a minimum cumulative high school .G.P.A. of 2.5 or college G.P.A. of 2.75.
Awarding the Scholarship
Applicants must complete the general application process for scholarships.
Renewing the Scholarship
For continuation, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours (or the number of credit hours funded) per semester with a 3.0 G.P.A. If the criteria is met, the scholarship is automatically renewed.
EXCELLENCE IN ACADEMICS SCHOLARSHIP
A stipend for up to four semesters awarded to degree seeking students who have completed a minimum of 12 credits at WWCC with a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.5.
Scholarships Available
The WWCC institutional budget allocation will determine the number of these scholarships awarded each academic year.
Value
$2,500 each academic year.
Criteria
Eligibility criteria and award amounts may change from year to year.
For consideration, applicants must have a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.5 after completing a minimum of 12 credits at Western Wyoming Community College.
Awarding the Scholarship
Applicants must complete the general application process for scholarships.
Renewing the Scholarship
For continuation, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester with a 3.0 G.P.A. If the criteria is met, the scholarship is automatically renewed.
STEP UP SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded to students that have completed two semesters at WWCC, and at the end of the spring term have a cumulative G.P.A. of a level required to increase their Hathaway scholarship to the next level.
Scholarships Available
The WWCC institutional budget allocation will determine the number of these scholarships awarded each academic year.
Value
Varies depending on the level of scholarship achieved.
Criteria
Eligibility criteria and award amounts may change from year to year.
For consideration, applicants must earn the G.P.A. required for the Honors or Performance level scholarships.
Awarding the Scholarship
Applicants must complete the general application process for scholarships.
Renewing the Scholarship
This is a non-renewable scholarship available only in the student’s second year of attendance at WWCC.
