What is a Host Family?
As a Host Family, you will provide a caring "home away from home" experience for students from other countries who are enrolled at Western Wyoming Community College. Each Host family befriends one or more students and builds a friendship through sharing home cooked meals, local hikes, movie nights, etc. In other words, the students do not live with the host family.
Why be a Host Family?
The primary reason international students come to the U.S. is to study; however, they face the difficulties of a new language, culture, food, values and academic pressures. As a host family, you can help ease the stress of this transition and provide additional support through camaraderie. Being a Host Family is also a great way to learn about diverse cultures.
